Q: My child is a picky eater. How do I get them to try more foods?
A: Experts say it takes at least 10 times to introduce a food to a child and for them to like it. I also recommend setting a good example by eating the food with them. The more they are exposed to different foods the more likely they are to try it.

"Q: Hello, we order lunches from Health e-Lunch Kids, however, my daughter is a child with ADHD and is medicated. Because of this, she doesn't eat but 1/4 of her lunch. Do you have suggestions on smaller meals or snacks I can order for her? A: I think the most important thing to know is that your daughter needs to be getting nutrient dense, high calorie snacks and meals, especially if she doesnt consume that much food and at least the food she is consuming will be packed with nutrients. some snacks that we offer are listed below: 1.celery and carrot sticks with ranch dip is always a good snack and rich in vitamins and nutrients. you can substitute soy peanut butter for a better source of protein. 2. the healthe-energy snack at $2.89 which is full of good foods that are packed with vitamins, nutrients and is nutrient dense (you could couple this with the fruit and yogurt snack tray.) 3. String cheese, crackers, and sliced apple 4. Canned fruit with pudding 5. Small banana spread with soy peanut butter. With the January menu, we are offering custom lunch choices with more of the items we suggest above. On Jan. 4, we offer a turkey wrap, its small and nutrient dense, you can choose a clementine ad carrots with it. On Jan. 11, there is a yogurt option, where you can choose granola, fruit salad, organic cracker or raisins. In Feb, there is a soybutter sandwich on wheat bread, on the 15th cheese n crackers, on the 22d, Hummus and Pita."

Q:Is it possible for you to give me some ideas on foods that are high in omega 3? I look forward to the new items that will be available in January A: I suggest our tuna sandwiches on wheat or organic Clif Zbars and our milk menu items are good sources of omegas. You also can try adding flax seed to any cookie mix or cereal. Other good sources of omega threes include fish (ex, salmon, mackerel)and low energy density long chain Omega-3 enriched foods (ex, bread, yogurt). We will bring an omega 3 snack for purchase online soon, stay tuned!

Q: "what things could junk food do to you? " A: "When a teenagers diet consists of junk food and fast foods, it has more fat, sugar and salt than nutrients. This improper diet has both short-term and long-term ill effects on the body. A healthy diet with a variety of good foods (whole grains, fruits and vegetables, low fat dairy) directly affects well-being. Eating nutritious foods will make teens feel better, look better and perform better in school and in sports. Nutritious food such as our meals leads to good health, strong bones, good muscle tone and clear skin. A properly nourished body is full of energy and is bright and alert; a healthy body sleeps well, maintains the right amount of weight and sustains a good disposition without extreme high or low moods."
